Algunos Pequeños Placeres / Some Small Pleasures

It was a good weekend. On Saturday I had a house full of kids, mine and their friends. I love hearing them play, their laughter, the opening and closing of doors, the loud music and the steps when they run across the wooden floors.

Me quedo bastante bien. Espero que dure su verdor… veremos.
While they were playing, I cooked some chocolate chip cookies with chopped peppermint candy. They looked good in the magazine but mine didn’t, they didn’t have a good consistency either, but they were tasty. They ate them all. I also made a leaf garland with branches from our garden, to put above a pair of French doors next to the entry way. That did turn out well. I hope the leafs stay green ... we'll see.

A bosque.
On Sunday morning we went out to get our Christmas tree. I love this ritual, the one where we buy the tree. It smells good. The smell fills the house and the atmosphere is filed with Christmas spirit.

We will decorate it before the 8th because the kids are taking mid-term exams. It doesn’t matter. Let’s bend the tradition a bit. Don’t we bend things all the time? The rules, the truth, feelings and life in general?
